All The Info
I am a 3rd year Zoology with Herpetology student studying at Bangor University with a keen interest in amphibians. I am a local Welsh girl working in my home village of Abergwyngregyn at a whiskey distillery. I have a desire to travel the world conducting research on chytrid fungus and amphibian ecology.
As part of a field course for my second year of my Zoology with Herpetology degree I travelled to Arizona to assist in research on venom in rattlesnake species, as well as herping in the natural environment for a variety of reptile and amphibian species. In the summer of 2018, I was part of an expedition to Cusuco National Park in Honduras where I conducted research on five salamander species and their habitat preferences. This research aims to answer key questions on salamander ecology and the impact of climatic and anthropogenic change on their populations.
This blog is inspired by my 'Science and Employability' module to kick start my search for a career in Zoology, by attending seminars and talks. I hope to make key connections in the biological world to aid in my search for a career and research opportunities. I am excited to take you through my journey and blog about the influences each seminar has on my future career.
